- Figure out what is important.
The first thing we do even before we decide to work together is find out what is most important to you for your wedding if you are a bride or for your family story if you are a family. For brides this helps you prioritize where you should focus your spending so if food is really important then it makes sense to spend more on that than say photography. For families, it helps set the tone for the story line.
- Reflect yourself.
We not only want to make you look good we also want you to be you and we want your story to really express who you are. We work with you on a personal level to help you identify what your style is, this is especially important for brides and families. Knowing the difference between formal and informal, and all the nuances in between will help us capture your spirit and energy.
- Our clients get a lot of attention.
Your story is important to us. So we maintain a continually open line of communication. During our time together we explore all the new and old ways of telling your story that will work with today’s and tomorrow’s technology.
- Make your wedding flow and have fun doing it.
Your wedding is like a three act play where Act I is “getting Ready” Act 2 is “The Ceremony” and Act 3 is “Celebration” Because photography is a major part of the production flow our clients work closely with us to define the photographic role through out the production. Working in collaboration.
- Increase your clarity and focus
so you can be confident that your story will look and feel the way you want. As a couple soon to be married you will learn and be supported in being able to see the big picture and move outside your comfort zone so that you can anticipate problems and have solutions readily available that will not effect you during your day. Families work similarly except your bigger picture will focus on longer time-line. In both cases having a clear vision will help guarantee you receive exactly what you envisioned.
Our clients not only have their story told in an original way they also learn more about themselves, and get our support through out the process and coaching as they continue to develop future chapters of their story.
Our work is based on very deeply held values
We believe that our service is about more than just clicking a shutter and handing you a disc of digital photos. We do not see ourselves as vendors selling a commodity but rather a creative service. We also believe that everything we do should be remarkable, it should both meet and exceed your expectations.
Relationship over transaction…We believe that the best way to provide a remarkable service is to focus on building a relationship with our clients based on the nature of the commission. Relationship allows us get to know who you are, so we can better capture all those characteristics that make you who you are.
Our work together should be fulfilling both for our clients and for us. While we are in business to make a profit money takes a second place to fulfillment. We want to inspire and empower our clients so that their stories can reflect who they are.
Every story should creatively reflect the spirit of the stories characters , including emotion, setting and time. Every image contains it’s own story and parts of a larger story our role is to find those parts and pieces and capture them in a way that makes them whole.
We believe every story is unique and every story has heart. It is the accurate capture and presentation of those two elements that is a major part of the reason we do what we do.
We also believe that photography is art and that art plays an important part in our collective lives, it frames how we see the world, it helps give language to our own vision and it provides insight into who we are. As a result parts of your story may be hung as art.
Open communications is important to us we ask a lot of questions and encourage our clients to do the same. We believe that our role is to support them in telling their story, by using our tools and experience to find and artistically assemble all of the parts of the story.
Our unique approach puts you in the directors chair
Finding a photographer these days can be confusing, time consuming and frustrating. The digital revolution has caused the field of choices to continually increase with fewer tools available to the consumer to help them find a fit. The process used to be simple because the entry requirements to be a photographer demanded a high level of skill, artistic style, story telling ability and technical knowledge.
We are unique because we come with loads of experience, Bill has over 50 years experience as a photographer, owning his own darkroom, shooting film all over the world. Marsha has over 20 years experience also in film, all over the world as well.
We have a welled developed and unique artistic style. Bill’s technical background has allowed him to transfer many of the laborious techniques he used in the darkroom to the digital environment.
Our relationship skills have been honed and tested many times over. These skills allow us to know how to focus on you, help you overcome your shyness and uncertainty about style preferences.
We know how to compose stories creatively and artistically. Bill’s graphic design and fine art background guarantees that the result will be creative, original and accurately reflect you possibly in ways you never imagined!
