Duluth MN during a fall gale. We are traveling along the north shore of Superior in search of our photographs for our annual calender. Last night when we arrived in Duluth the wind was 40+ mph with 15′ swells, very powerful and awe inspiring I put the rain cover on my camera and took a few shots.

This next one was today just north of Duluth still blowing but not quite as hard.

More to come in ffuture posts.

Last weekend we photographed Eric and Jamie’s wedding in Center City, MN. they were married in the historic Chisago Lakes Methodist Church buil circa 1882 by swedish immigrants. They won our 8 hour coverage as part of a Twin City Bridal Association silent auction for Breast Cancer. They were so easy to photograph..almost as if they were models, very natural and relaxed, it was very hard for us to quit at the end of the day!!
anyway here are some highlights:

We did something new for this wedding, we set up two remote cameras one in the balcony and another behind the alter. usually we can only set up 1 but this time we were able to add another. Remote cameras alow us to capture simultaneously from two aditional points of view ending up with the same scene shot from four different camera angles…VERY COOL. More on remote cameras in another post. you cansee from the photo above and the following ones how nice it is to capture from multiple angles.

On August 19th we had the pleasure of photographing Nate and Keksey’s wedding at their home in Wrenshall, MN. Their wedding was truly a family and community affair…the groomsmen grilled the main course while families brought pot luck in true Minnesota style. The day was simply lovely the families the kids and most importantly the Bride and Groom!!
Here are a few highlights:

Greg and Becky were married July 30th in Belingham, WA….wait a minute!!they actually were married the previous week in a civil ceremony and then on July 30th had a ceremony were they exchanged rings and celebrated with their family. Because Greg will be heading off to grad school and Becky will also be returning to pre-med preparations the took their honey moon before the wedding. They spent 17 sea kayaking the Queen Charlette Islands in B.C..
Here are some highlights:

The flowers Becky carried (above) were actually made out of cedar strips by a native woman when Greg and Becky stayed with them in a Long House in the Queen Charlettes.

Last week I spent about an hour photographing Luke for his Senior photos. Luke is an aspiring photographer and the brother of one of our brides. I have done a very limited number of senior photos and giventhe fun Luke and I had I think I will be making an effort to photograph more seniors.
Luke kind of looks like James Dean in the photo above!!
Here are a few high lights from the session.

One of the things we did was set up a light and cameras on tripods as Luke was doing his own self portrait, the couple of photos above were taken from that vantage point while this next one was taken by me at the same time to capture the scene, The camera and light in front of Luke was triggered by me using a wireless transceiver.
