Saturday evening I had the plwasure of photographing Donna’s surprise 50th birthday party. The party was planned by her family and friends and wa held on a paddlewheeler on the St. Croix river. Her friends took her out to dinner and then coaxed her into visiting one of the river boats to check it out as apotential site for a class reunion…she was totally suprised!!
The evening was beautiful with a gorgeous sunset over the river and a nice cool breeze as we followed the St. Croix to Hudson WI.
The music was unbelievably good so much so I really had to resist putting my camera down and joining in for the dancing!!
Here are a few highlights and a link to the photos:
Donna’s college girl friends used to lipsynch to Diana Ross’s “Stop in the name of Love” using their curling irons as mics…here they used their thumbs instead!

YMCA Donna’s favorite excercise song.

On July 22 we photographed Sam and Rachel’s wedding in Taylor’s Falls, MN, they held the ceremony in the historic First Methodist Church constructed circa 1840 high above the St. Croix river. We had photographed them at Taylors’ Falls in October of ‘05 for their guest book and returned to shoot the wedding party shots before the ceremony and some private time for just them after the ceremony.
Here are some highlights
